• Form: This specimen forms a robust, few-leaved rosette displaying the combined architectural heritage of H. maughanii and H. springbokvlakensis. The leaves spread low and horizontally from a compact central axis, creating a semi-truncate, star-like silhouette.
• Leaves: The leaves are broadly obovate to truncate-deltoid, featuring flat to gently concave end-areas with distinctly incurved, undulating margins. The apex is softly rounded to truncate, while the margins are sleek and virtually smooth, with only microscopic denticulation near the edges.
• Texture & Windows: The retuse upper surfaces feature expansive, semi-pellucid windows with a polished, subtly frosted finish. These fenestrated end-areas are adorned with thick, branching, dark purplish-maroon longitudinal striations that form intricate, rounded arch and island-like venation patterns.
